Under the Hood
All Mazda5s are powered by a 157-horsepower, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 163 pounds-feet of torque. It represents a slight bump in horsepower compared with the outgoing four-cylinder, and it is 15 pounds-feet of torque more powerful than the old engine. Power is routed to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission or a five-speed automatic.
* EPA-estimated 21/28 mpg city/highway with either transmission * Regular gas is recommended
